Where have all the bungalows gone?

I can hardly recognize my childhood neighbourhood of East York any more. Street after street of new 2 storey homes are springing up from the foundations of the bungalows. The time will come and there will be none left. As we age where will we go to find a nice one level (easy on the knees) home that's not a condo? Maybe we will have to decapitate these homes to get our bungalows back!
